The Hoofs of Wrath
05:08
|
|||
News to our lord's door that would wither all the north
The long hand of our enemy is ever-reaching forth
So the desperate call now is heard by one and all
But we will do the answering before the city's fall
Some will gaze in wonder
More will perish in the first attack
All will hear the thunder black
The hoofs of wrath
Saddle up those steeds
It's the hour of most need
Cast aside your weariness and ride out with all speed
We've mustered all our might,
Now we gallop through the night
And man and beast must reach the end still with the strength to fight
The leagues go racing by
Underneath a starry sky
We come to the journey's end and let the banners fly
Dawn
The battlefield
Sun on every spear and shield
Fear in every foeman's face
And now all doom is sealed

Grinding Ice

Endless winter
Endless darkness
Endless ocean
Endless night sky
Don't talk
Put your head on my shoulder
Look away from the shivering sky
It's a long walk
Every step gets colder
I see an icicle in your eye
Endless wasteland
Endless deathbed
Endless exile
Endless, endless dread

Secret City
07:39
|
|||
Moonlight on glass, a crystalline dome
Wonder of wonders and the splendor of home
Cascading down from the sparkling peak
Awake and awash in the glittering deep
A forest of voices, always singing
The tinkling of bells that never stop ringing
A sprinkling of wishes from fountains go springing
Fast through the shady mountain moss clinging
No heart conceives of a doom that can touch
Our secret city we treasure so much
While far away some danger rose high
All our eyes were fixed on the stars in the sky
I cupped my queen by the marble stair
My lily of valor, my rose of despair
I winged a wish by that raven candle
I heard thunder clap like the slap of a sandal
The open window and the empty street
The distant rumble of hundreds of feet
Gold lit on pearl, and the trumpets sounded
Tidings came in that we were confounded
It's no mere rumor that comes to our ears
Trembling our towers, our tongues, and our tears
Behold unforetold our doom drawing near us
Our secret city stood fragile and fearless

The Doomsday Book
04:26
|
|||
Wisdom of the ages
Secrets of the sages
Who can read what's written there
Upon those yellow pages?
But I heard the time is nigh
To scale the tower so high
And let the banners fly
Spit into the evil eye
From the fairy's fountain
To the magic mountain
I can feel that spirit clock
Tick-tock down to nothin
But it's dangerous to go alone
Into the murder zone
The blasted earth and stone
A blanket for your bones
Secrets of the sages
Wisdom of the ages
I saw my name written there
Upon those hallowed pages
And I know the time is now
To speed along the bough
And scale the tower so high
I'll stab out that evil eye

Blue Candle
02:55
|
|||
There is a table made of earth and stone
It's thirty fathoms wide as the butterfly's flown
But you never get there unless you go alone
A candle in the canopy, a star wind blown
It's just a little bit further now...
And then you behold
With your own two eyes
Majesty beneath the skies
